STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS To Debut Trailer This Weekend on Select Theaters


After weeks of speculation, it was now revealed as to when we’ll be seeing the much awaited trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. 

Movie promotions outfit Regal Entertainment posted online that a select no. of theaters will be premiering the teaser for the said movie. Furthermore, they have also unveiled the list of North American theaters under their label which will be airing the trailer:

  • Irvine, California: Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX
  • San Diego, California: Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
  • Atlanta, Georgia: Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
  • Chicago: Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX
  • New York City: New York Regal Union Square Stadium 14
  • Warrington, Pennsylvania: Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX
  • Knoxville, Tenness: Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
  • Houston: Edwards Houston Marq’E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX
  • Seattle: Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX

Neither Disney nor Lucasfilm have commented regarding the issue, so it is still unclear if Regal theaters will be showing the trailer exclusively or otherwise.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, The Force Awakens stars franchise veterans Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and Warwick Davis, and newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie. The film opens Dec. 18, 2015.

UPDATE: J.J. Abrams just took the said trailer mojo to Twitter and implied that it will be released this coming Thanksgiving Day, with a brief hint on how long it’ll be.
