X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Finds Its Titular Villain!
After months of speculation and hype, Variety reports that Oscar Isaac has been cast to play the titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse.
According to the writeup, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Inside Llewyn Davis actor will be stepping in to the role of En Sabah Nur, otherwise known as the mutant overlord Apocalypse. The character has been teased in the post-credits scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Bryan Singer is directing the film, which will mark his fourth turn in the center seat for an X-Men movie. Simon Kinberg is writing the script.
Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy are all expected to return for X-Men: Apocalypse, which will be set in the 1980s. Don’t be surprised if Hugh Jackman shows up as well as Wolverine.
The movie will be released on May 27, 2016.
