Konami announces METAL GEAR SURVIVE
Following Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami, fans worry for the future of the Metal Gear franchise, specially after the announcement of a certain pachink game. Now, Konami announces Metal Gear Survive.
It’s a four-player co-op stleath game set after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, where members of MSF who survived the game’s finale are transported through wormholes into a different reality packed with crystalline zombies and must now stick together to survive this harsh alternate world.
Tomotada Tashiro, the Konami European President says that the game is “designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience” and that it is meant to be a fresh take on Metal Gear Solid’s stealth elements. One guess would be that it is similar to a Day-Z and Monster Hunter hybrid, gathering resources and teaming up to take down dangerous threats.
Not much is clear about Survive’s plot other than it takes place in an alternate universe. Though we see Big Boss and Kaz departing, it is unclear whether or not they or any of the cast of Phantom Pain will play a role in the game.
The game will be using the same FOX Engine used for MGSV:GZ and MGSV:TPP. More information about the game will be revealed in the coming weeks, stay tuned.
